About Us

At Software Quality Connection, we care about helping software developers, testers and IT professionals in the trenches. We aim to provide an unfiltered platform to help them discuss their views with peers and experts, stay up to date on the latest trends, talk about and advance their careers, learn how to improve the quality of their software, share the problems that matter most to them — with joy, and with up-to-date knowledge. Our articles and community let you be creative,  and we give you a place to talk, and occasionally, laugh — with no corporate red tape to get in the way.

Wait — that sounds entirely too formal. Here’s how we think about what we’re doing, really: We want you, developers, testers and IT professionals to find opinions, articles, experiences and conversations that make you say, “Hey, this is cool!”

Our articles are written by the people you know, including experts in programming circles and authorities in the computer industry. We also have plenty of input from your peers who are finding better ways to deliver software or just to get ahead in their careers. (See our Writer’s Guidelines, if you’d like to write for us.)

While you’ll find plenty of technology features, case studies, and opinion columns here, Software Quality Connection is primarily a conversation. The site was founded by co-editors-in-chief, Joe Krivickas and Gottfried Sehringer. It is sponsored by SmartBear as we need somebody to pay for our lunch. Of course SmartBear makes great tools that make the lives of developers and testers easier — but this as much marketing text as you’ll hear about the company. This site is truly a collaboration among serious practitioners — and you’re one of them. Share your opinions and experience! Please respond in the comments, contribute to the Discussion Forums, share on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, sign up for the newsletter — and let us know how we’re doing. — Esther Schindler, editorial director, and Alex Forbes, community manager.
